We all have a vision. We all have a purpose. We all have a journey. My journey began in Guatemala and at the age of 9, I moved to America. In 2012, I became a U.S Citizen. In 2015, I graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a degree in Computer Science. In 2016, I worked for the number 15 accounting firm in the United States. In 2017, I was acknowledged in the March issue of Scientific Reports (a journal of the Nature Publishing Group). The study finds a novel target molecule to help prevent brain damage from hemorrhagic strokes. Today, I am a Lead Programmer Analyst and my vision is to make a contribution to the world by bringing shoes to those in need.
Guatemala was in the midst of a civil war from 1960 to 1996. Guatemala experienced 36 years of a silent genocide. The civil war put an end to economic growth and devastated communities within the nation. Unfortunately, today, many families are still impacted by the aftermath of the most brutal period in Guatemalan history.
Yuntos has decided to start “Project: CONNECT GT”. The not for profit social project will bring new and gently worn shoes to those in need in Guatemala. A walk in our shoes. Have a shoe tell two stories. Would you like to be part of this project!?
